What if you could take a new step in learning & teaching and deliver impactful, high quality learning content to a mass audience, but have them feel like they are in the learning environment of their choice? This is the promise of virtual reality, or VR.

If you want to your students to be immersed in a breathtaking learning environment, or to receive courses as if they were literally "on-the-job" even from the comfort of their couch at home, then this workshop is for you.

Ritchie will take you through a step-by-step session covering preparation, creation & distribution of engaging and effective learning content to integrate with your overall education strategies. He will show how preparing the layout, lighting, presenters and learning elements for a VR production is a very different undertaking to a standard video production.

Ritchie's workshop features only over-the-shelf consumer hardware and software, meaning the skills you take away from this can easily be applied no matter what type or size of organisation/institutions you are working within. Ritchie will show you
  • how creativity and planning will inform your VR content production;
  • the actual process of capturing 360 VR video; how to perform basic editing functions to prepare the footage for final authoring; and
  • how to upload or make the content available on various mobile VR devices such as Samsung's Gear VR and Google Cardboard.
